About the Role

This role of senior business development manager drives strategic growth and district-level partnerships. This is a high-level role is responsible for shaping our go-to-market strategy, generating new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with school leaders, and securing pilots and long-term contracts. You will work closely with our founders, research partners, and product team to bring Colleague AI into classrooms at scale.

Responsibilities

  1. Identify and qualify new business opportunities across K–12 schools, districts, and state-level partners
  2. Lead outreach campaigns to superintendents, curriculum directors, CTOs, and innovation leads
  3. Develop tailored strategies to engage priority markets and buyer personas
  4. Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers through the full sales cycle
  5. Lead product demos, respond to RFPs, and guide contract negotiations
  6. Collaborate with internal teams to shape pricing, pilots, and implementation strategies
  7. Track and forecast pipeline performance using CRM and analytics tools
  8. Represent Colleague AI at national education conferences, webinars, and policy events
  9. Provide strategic input to shape our market positioning, messaging, and product roadmap

Qualifications

  1. 5+ years of experience in B2B business development or enterprise sales, ideally in EdTech, SaaS, or K–12 consulting
  2. Highly motivated professionals and being ambitious of co-creating significant adventure and business with the founding team. 
  3. Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and can operate both strategically and tactically
  4. Proven success selling to school districts or public agencies, including long-cycle deals and pilot-to-scale growth
  5. Exceptional communication and presentation skills; able to engage both instructional and technical audiences
  6. Familiarity with public procurement processes, funding streams (ESSER, Title I, state grants), and district priorities
  7. Passion for education, innovation, and societal impact

Nice to Have

  1. Experience selling AI-powered or data-driven education platforms
  2. Familiarity with instructional technology frameworks (e.g., ISTE, UDL)
