Join an National Initiative to Train 4800+ Educators in AI
Colleague AI, the University of Washington’s AmplifyLearn.AI Research Center, and a national partner network are training at least 4,800 educators nationwide under a National Science Foundation grant. School districts, local education agencies, county offices of education, regional service centers, and education service districts can all bring this training to their educators at no cost.
A National Initiative to Train 4,800 Educators
We’re looking for different shapes, sizes, and geographic locations of districts, entities, and organizations to participate.
We take a collaborative approach to run sessions that work for your local educators.
SCHOOL DISTRICTS: 1/2, 1, OR 2-DAY SESSIONS
Districts can run half-day, one-day, or two-day sessions directly. Sessions have minimum attendance requirements, and small districts are encouraged to co-host with neighboring districts to meet them and build a regional cohort.
LOCAL OR REGIONAL ENTITIES: 1/2, 1, OR 2-DAY SESSIONS
ESCs, RSCs, LEAs, COEs, and other regional entities can host half-day, one-day, or multi-day sessions for the districts and educators in their service area, with multi-day formats available where there’s demand.
STATES AND STATE ENTITIES: 1 OR 2-DAY SESSIONS
States or state-level organizations or entities are also invited to participate, hosting training for the districts and educators they serve at whatever scale fits their network.
3 Training Formats Available
We work with you to pick the format that fits your schedule and your educators’ needs. All three draw from the same core curriculum.
SYNCHRONOUS, IN-PERSON
AmplifyLearn.AI and Colleague AI send 1-2 trainers to lead sessions in person, at a location your district, regional organization, or state.
Trainers are PhD researchers and experienced educators with deep expertise in K-12 AI education.
SYNCHRONOUS, REMOTE
The same live session, delivered remotely for districts and agencies where an in-person visit isn’t practical.
Trainers are also from AmplifyLearn.AI and Colleague AI.
ASYNCHRONOUS
Educators work through the training independently, on a timeline that fits around the school calendar.

Using AI responsibly in the classroom
Practical guidance on where AI supports instruction and where it doesn’t, grounded in classroom use rather than abstract policy.
Using AI for school and district administration
How school and district leaders can apply AI to the operational side of the job, separate from classroom instruction.
Ethical considerations in AI implementation
The equity, privacy, and oversight questions a district needs to work through before AI use scales.
Implementing and rolling out AI across a school or district
What a successful rollout looks like in practice, from an initial pilot to district-wide adoption.
Working directly with AI tools - how to use them
A hands-on session where educators build skill and confidence using specific AI tools for tasks they already do.

Ongoing Training Opportunities
Every participating educator gets access to ongoing support after the session ends, such as:
- monthly webinars – short live sessions on tools and best practices
- educator community resources
- option to pursue AI Certified Educator credential with the University of Washington

Colleague AI and AmplifyLearn.AI are proud to have 16+ partnerships with education service centers and regional service centers already.
Training thus far has been extremely successful, and is generally seen as a win-win-win partnership, offering funded training for educators in their region.
We seek to expand our partnerships and reach the 4,800 educators we’re mandated to train under the grant.
About AmplifyLearn & the University of Washington
Colleague AI grew out of research at the University of Washington’s AmplifyLearn center. It was developed in partnership with UW researchers under NSF-funded projects. This academic foundation means the platform is built on cutting-edge generative AI research and proven pedagogical methods.
We work closely with UW’s AmplifyGAIN Center, a research institute focused on generative AI for K-12 math and science. Insights from their surveys and studies directly inform Colleague AI’s design. For instance, their findings helped us create AI tools that empower teachers to compose high-quality lesson materials, assessments, and personalized student feedback.
