The Opportunity
We are looking for a mission-aligned Account Executive to drive growth and build district partnerships across the Southern region of the U.S. This is a quota-carrying role where you’ll play a central role in expanding our footprint across schools and districts, from initial outreach through pilot design and long-term collaboration. This is a high-impact, relationship-driven position that sits at the intersection of sales, strategy, and educational transformation.
You will work closely with our founding team, product innovators, and customer success leaders to build meaningful connections with K–12 leaders and ensure Colleague AI is making a measurable difference in classrooms.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve Quota: Close deals and build a high-quality pipeline to meet or exceed assigned regional booking goals and sales targets. Establish Regional Presence: Position Colleague AI as the trusted AI partner for K–12 school districts across the South through consistent territory management and relationship building. Build Strong Relationships: Cultivate partnerships with superintendents, curriculum leaders, CTOs, and district leadership teams to drive buy-in and decision-making.
Expand Influence: Leverage successful partnerships to generate momentum across neighboring districts, education networks, and regional consortia. Navigate Sales Cycles: Lead demos, manage procurement timelines, respond to RFPs, and negotiate contracts with legal and financial stakeholders. Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with product, finance, implementation, and marketing teams to tailor offerings that align with district priorities.
Manage Pipeline: Maintain accurate CRM tracking, monitor sales performance, and report forecasts with discipline and precision. Provide Market Insight: Offer frontline feedback to inform product development, competitive positioning, and regional growth strategies. Travel Regularly: Conduct in-person meetings, attend district presentations, and represent Colleague AI at national education conferences (25–50% travel required).
What You Bring
Relevant Experience: 3+ years of experience in enterprise sales Ed Tech Sales.
Sales Success: Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding quota and securing district partnerships through consultative selling.
Strategic Execution: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, startup environment while managing a complex sales territory.
Communication Strength: Excellent communication skills—equally comfortable with instructional leaders and technical buyers. Funding Knowledge: Understanding of public education funding, procurement pathways, and policy priorities. Mission Alignment: Passion for improving education and a belief in the transformative potential of technology.
Bonus Points
Experience with AI-powered or data-driven platforms in the education space is highly valued. Familiarity with instructional technology models (e.g., ISTE Standards, UDL framework) demonstrates your understanding of the educational landscape. Previous experience working in or with school districts in Florida, Georgia, or Texas gives you valuable regional insight.
